The E92 328i was my true intro to the BMW world. While it wasn’t my very first E92 (I’ve owned a few over the years), this one stood out the most and ended up being my favorite. It wasn’t fast, and it wasn’t fancy—it came with torn synthetic leather seats, no M Sport package, and pretty much zero options from factory. But that’s exactly what made it such a fun project.
Under the hood, it had the trusty N52 engine—reliable as hell (except for the water pump, which did leave me stranded a few times lol). I didn’t touch the performance much, since the car wasn’t meant for that, but I poured love into the exterior and interior to bring it up to a clean OEM+ spec.
Here’s what I did:
- Fox Red Electric Seats (OEM) – found these for a steal and retrofitted them in; totally transformed the interior
- LCI Tail Lights (OEM) – love the facelift look, even if retrofitting them fried my DME once 😅
- M Sport Front & Rear Bumpers + Side Skirts (OEM) – gave it that proper sporty look it always deserved
- LED Angel Eyes Retrofit – shoutout to Angel Eye Guy in the US; I had to bake open the headlights and it was chaotic, but so worth it
- Wheel spacers – 20mm front, 25mm rear – gave it a more aggressive stance
It wasn’t the fastest, but it was just fast enough to be fun. It handled well, felt balanced, and was the perfect daily/learner car to get into BMWs. Wouldn’t recommend drifting with the open diff though—been there, spun that 😬
I still own an E92 328i here in the US, but that one’s bone stock and not exactly post-worthy (yet).
