PhilaRadar is Philadelphia’s top-tier real estate analytics platform—designed to uncover hidden relationships, ownership structures, and market activity with unmatched precision.
What I Worked On
I joined the PhilaRadar project as a full stack developer, working closely with the owner (a developer/data engineer) to build and refine the platform. While he handled the data ingestion and business side, I split my time equally across frontend and backend, tackling everything from bug fixes to building major features.
Key Contributions
- Frontend/Backend development with Next.js and Express.js
- Added and optimized multiple dashboard features
- Implemented Clerk for authentication and secure session handling
- Developed custom data obfuscation logic between frontend and backend for privacy and security
- Actively building a large-scale scraping system using:
- Python (my personal favorite for scraping)
- Apache Airflow for job orchestration
- Terraform for infrastructure as code
- Docker, Grafana, and Loki for containerization and logging
This project gave me a crash course in the real estate domain, and it’s been one of the most technically exciting things I’ve worked on lately. The scraping side of it, especially, has been a dream project—challenging, rewarding, and right up my alley.
